NEW OR REPLACEMENT

Out With the Old - In With the New!

At Champion & Nash our goal is to determine what’s best for your comfort, safety, and budget. While our technicians are experts in service and repair, sometimes replacement is the smartest option. Today’s top AC units use an average of 30% to 50% less energy than those built 20 years ago, and replacing even a 10-year-old unit, with a new and more efficient one may save 20% to 40% in energy costs. If it’s time for a new unit – our expert home evaluation and equipment recommendation will help you plan your next steps.

Step 1 - Evaluating Your Home Cooling Needs

We all know Houston is notoriously hot and humid. Many homes in our area have Central AC units which are manufactured in specific sizes, ranging from 1.5 to 5 tons of cooling capacity. A two-story home, very likely has two units, one for upstairs and another for downstairs and both may have a different cooling capacity. A unit too large, will inadequately remove humidity. A unit too small will fail to meet your cooling needs especially on those hot Houston days. Before purchasing a new unit, unlike many contractors, Champion & Nash will perform a thorough onsite evaluation and load calculation to determine the exact unit size to meet your desired comfort level and budget.

Step 2 - Installation! The most important day in the life of your HVAC system.

After completing our rigorous process to determine the right system for your needs - the next step is installation. Champion & Nash technicians are highly-trained and experienced - we know how crucial it is to ensure that your unit is installed correctly. Poor installation, not unlike improper equipment sizing, directly affects the efficiency of your system. Even a brand new, highly efficient AC unit, if improperly installed, will lead to uneven temperatures, undue equipment wear, and higher energy bills.
