Located northeast of Houston and bordered by one of the three major lakes in the area, Kingwood comprises 22 villages with communities dedicated to suburban living.
It’s called the Livable Forest for a reason: there are so many trees and natural features that make it an ideal spot for families to play, learn, and grow. We are regularly in the Kingwood area, helping residents with all their HVAC needs.
When King Ranch and the Friendswood Development Company combined to create the residential area of Kingwood, they envisioned people living amidst nature. Accommodations were made to ensure the communities maintained that vision by preserving the trees and greenbelts of the area. Among the trees are these planned communities, with parks and trails scattered throughout. The most prominent natural feature is Lake Houston, which is nearly as large as Kingwood. Many homes line its shores, and there is access to docks for boaters and anglers looking to spend a day on the water. There are over 75 miles of trails for residents to walk or ride their bikes. Many areas have committees or boards responsible for maintaining the trails and preserving nature.
King’s Crossing is the largest of the shopping centers and is located in the heart of Kingwood, but you can also visit Kingwood Place, Kingwood Commons, or Randall’s Town Center for more shopping and dining options. The Shops on Kings Harbor is a waterfront development offering lakeside views while you shop or have lunch at a local restaurant.
The community promotes connection through annual events, including the Kingwood Oktoberfest, the Kingwood Mardi Gras Festival and Parade, and the Fourth of July Fireworks and Festival. In the summer, there’s a Farmers Market at Town Center Park and concerts at the Kings Harbor Waterfront. As winter approaches, you can enjoy Christmas at the Park, complete with tree lighting, caroling, hot chocolate, and a visit from Santa himself.
Of course, each of the 22 villages of Kingwood fosters a strong sense of community with events and community activities. If you live in Greentree Village, you’re familiar with the dedication to the trails and natural beauty of the area. Hunter’s Ridge Village offers a swimming pool and hosts an annual Splash Party. Sand Creek Village features soccer fields and disc golf, while River Grove Park is the local spot for boating on Lake Houston. Active HOAs keep things running smoothly, while the Kingwood Service Association provides assistance and safety services to the area's residents.
