Shenandoah is about 20 minutes from our offices in Spring. Shenandoah straddles Interstate 45, heading north out of downtown Houston. Shenandoah just celebrated its 50th anniversary of being incorporated as a city.
Filling the two square miles of the town limits are many beautiful homes, plus shopping and entertainment, that are impressive for the size of this town. We visit Shenandoah regularly to help residents and businesses with their air conditioning and heating needs.
Shenandoah has five shopping centers that are attractive to local shoppers and people coming from Houston. There is Metro Park Square, with its mixed-use offerings that include places to play, shop, live, and work, and Portofino Shopping Center, with its 40 restaurants and shops in a Venetian architectural setting. There is also the Research Forest, Research Plaza, and Sam Moon Shopping Center, which have boutiques, shops, and eateries. There is no shortage of opportunities to spend a day browsing and eating out.
Shenandoah City Park has so much to offer the locals looking to have a picnic, play some tennis or Pickleball, or play a game of pickup basketball. There’s also Holly Hills Trailpark, which just opened up to the public in 2022. It’s 4.5 acres of quiet trails and places to rest after a long day of work or shopping in the area. It’s located at the cul-de-sac on Holly Hill.
Around Halloween, there is a community gathering called “Fall Into Fun,” which is held at the city park. There is a train to ride on, food, music, and an old-fashioned hayride. On Christmas Eve, the town tradition is to have luminaries lit at the entrances of public buildings and at the entrances of residential areas to celebrate the season. During the hottest summer days, the Mary Pat Case Municipal Pool is open, including on the Fourth of July, for the community to play and cool off.
