Heat Pump - Replacing

If you're on our maintenance plan, we'll schedule a convenient appointment to visit your home. To ensure easy access to your indoor and outdoor units, you may need to move any surrounding furniture or objects. We start with some questions about your experience with your system: How do you feel about its performance? If it’s making any strange noises, if you’ve seen leaks or smelled anything odd. Your experience with your heat pump will help us address any concerns during our tune-up. We will be aware of the make and model of your heat pump system so we can have the right tools and parts for the tune-up.

A yearly maintenance visit from one of our team of HVAC Technicians in the Greater Houston area will benefit your heat pump system. Heat pump systems are remarkable in their reliability and versatility, but like any machine, they need to be tended to regularly to improve their performance and longevity. You’ll also experience fewer unplanned heat pump repair calls during the coldest or hottest days of the year.

Visual Inspection of Your Heat Pump

Highly qualified and experienced HVAC technicians like the team we have at Champion and Nash will do a visual inspection before they start any work on the heat pump. They will look for any signs of leaks, debris, anything blocking air flow, the condition of the casings, the condition of the wiring, and other components of your system. They will know the typical issues that can happen with heat pumps and get a sense of their overall condition.

Refrigerant Level Check and Replenishment

The ability of a heat pump system to heat and cool your home is due to the unique thermodynamic qualities of your system’s refrigerant. We will check your refrigerant levels and add more if there has been some loss since our last visit. Our technicians are trained in the handling of refrigerants and know how much is optimal for your heat pump system. A heat pump that is running with refrigerant below the recommended level is going to work harder than it needs to.

Air Filter Cleaning or Replacement

Air filters are essential to the overall functioning and efficiency of your heat pump system. They remove dust and other pollutants that can clog up your system and make it work harder than it should. Depending on your particular heat pump make and model, we will either clean the air filters or replace them. A heat pump that is getting clean air will operate more efficiently and last longer.

Evaporator and Condenser Coil Cleaning

The evaporator and condenser coils operate together to heat and cool your home. Because they are crucial to the overall function of your heat pump system, we want to make sure they are clean and free from debris. Cleaning them using our professional tools and techniques will allow them to cool and heat your home more efficiently, reducing strain on the whole system.

Condensate Drain and Drain Line Maintenance

After completing these steps, we'll perform a series of performance checks to ensure your heat pump meets our high standards. These checks verify proper airflow, confirm that temperature levels match thermostat settings, and assess the performance of electrical components. Additionally, we'll lubricate any noisy parts and check for any signs of leaks.
